Three from personal experience:

9/7/90 - First show after Brent's death. Crowd goes nuts after first notes of Cold Rain and Snow opener.

9/4/91 - Also at Richfield. Crowd erupts after conclusion of a monster Scarlet> Fire and a little wave of recognition from Jerry. Listen to the energy build starting around 13:00 mins in Fire.

I recall there is a pretty big noise with the comeback of Dark Star on !0/9/89 .
As for funny crowd moments , too many to remember .
One funny one is on the 11/20/71 Pauley Pavilion show . You hear someone in the audience , up close say "Hey Weir, play Gloria" (then, an absurd request !), someone off mike ( you have to turn it up to hear ) says "hey fuck off " .
